My love affair with the Bernina brand began when I was given my first one in the early 1990's. It's a love affair that is still going strong today. My goal in creating this new group on Groups.io is to facilitate a safe place for Bernina owners as well as those who aspire to be a Bernina owner, where you can ask questions or politely voice concerns, share inspirations and projects, and of course where our love for Bernina can be discussed.BerninaLand was the Yahoo! Group originally known as 430_440_630_640_730 which was started by CJ Tinkle in September, 2006. I became the group owner in 2010. By the end of Yahoo! Groups, the group had almost 5000 members. I went on to start many other Bernina specific groups, some at the specific request of Bernina Switzerland.I founded the Bernina 7 Series Yahoo!Group in 2012 and passed group ownership to Rebecca Grace in 2014, who took the group to new heights with her informed and detailed postings as well as her kindness which was apparent in all of her posts. At its end on Yahoo! the group had over 2000 members.Rebecca Grace is our group’s main moderator and my right-hand gal for this new endeavor!

This is the very same Bernina 7 Series Group that used to live on Yahoo Groups from 2012-2019.This group is for owners or potential owners of the Bernina 7 Series sewing machine models B700, B710, B720, B740, B750QE, B770QE, B780, B790, & B790 Plus. (Note that the Artista 730 machine is NOT part of the 7 Series -- it has a completely different body, user interface, & hook system). However, the newest Bernina 5 Series and 4 Series models have the same user interface as the 7 Series machines, so owners of those models are welcome to join this group as well.We have no affiliation with any specific Bernina dealer. Let's face it; sewing is probably a lot more fun in today's technological age than it was for our grandmothers. Along with all of the fun though, a lot of questions are generated as well. It's difficult to keep up with what's new, cool or techie out on the market and sometimes we feel like we're the last to know.This group was created so we can share information about these cool gadgets and have a resource center for answers to those pesky questions like how do I put a manual on my iPad or who else offers streaming video to keep me entertained while I sew or how do I store my info in a cloud. Wouldn't you rather ask those questions here among friends then have to admit to your kids you just don't know what an app is?You'll enjoy this group if you like to read about technical gadgets and gizmos, blogs, software, or if it at least doesn't make your eyes roll up into the back of your head.
